Tivoli Gardens in March

We are going to be in Rome for several days the end of March 2006 (Spring Break trip) and would like to take an afternoon to go out to Tivoli Gardens, but then I read in an article about Rome that it might be closed at that time of year. Has anyone gone there the end of March? Will it be open and will it be worthwhile? Also, any suggestions on comapnies to check out for a 1/2 day tour out there? Thanks so much.

I don't know about March, but in the off-season they do not run all of the fountains all of the time. I was there in November and we called ahead. They told us most of the fountains were running, so we went and it was worthwhile. I suggest calling first, then determine if it's worth the trip.

I'm not sure about now, but it was open the first two weeks of March 2002.

I made reservations through my hotel, but it would be better to search for a tour group ahead of time and make reservation and confirm openings. The tour would include Hadrians Villa and Tivoli Fountains.

I'm going in late October and taking a Scale Reale day tour - will be posting a trip report when I return. I noticed when planning that the number of scheduled tours to Tivoli was dropping off end of October/early November so checking with them might help determine the season cut off.

JSLee, I took your advice and started checking some tour companies that do tours to Tivoli Gardens and Hadrian's Villa. It appears that March is not going to a problem. There was a listing of activities on one site and they have a big "to-do" the next week, plus listed carneval happenings for February. I look foward to your report maryell. Let me know how that tour company is.
