Timhotel Saint-Georges in 9th Arrondissement

Anyone been? I just booked it after havong called several budget hotels recommended by Fodorites, but, they were booked.
I just read it's surrounded by sex shops and peep shows. Lucky me!!
Just wondering how bad this really is!?
Thanks

i cant comment on the hotel as i havent stayed there but i have seen the location. it is adjacent to the SEXODROME 4 storey black and red building. i walked through this road (pigalle red light district) in the morning around 9am and all was quiet however.i can only imagine what goes on in the road at night.

No it's not surrounded by sex shops. Its not very far at all from them . As in a 5 minute walk if that. But they are not right next to it. If you head towards blvd de Clicy / Pigalle you will see the sex shops. Move away from blvd de clicy you will probably see none. I lived in this area for a few months and think it is nice.

Morgan there are a number of timhotels in paris.
you are thinking of another.

timhotel st georges is adjacent to 2 red light establishements (one of huge proportions) on either side,in a road full of this type of stuff - unless they were demolished (higly unlikely) since last summer when i last visited.

i went to pigalle out of curiosity to check this hotel out because ironically i was going to book the same hotel.it had an irresistable price but then i read about its location on tripadvisor and chose another.

I retract my statement LOL. I was thinking of another hotel. Like ChevyChasen said, it will be surrounded by sex shops as it is on blvd Clicy.

I was thinking of the Libertel which is not far away. Here's a link:

BTW Chevy, I hadnt seen your post when I posted. Sorry about that. I always mix up the Libertel and the Timhotel because the names are close.

i found this photo of the hotel and its neighbours on the web.the black faced buildings on either side are what i was referring to.

http://www.precisionreservations.com.../Hotel6494.jpg

look on the bright side.you are only 50ft away from metro entrance.

has anyone here ended up in a hotel in a red light district in europe? how did you manage? did you enjoy your holiday?

the other tripadvisor(.com) reviews (although accurately describing the hotels location) are quite positive on the service so maybe you will do ok.

Thank you all! My boyfriend and I aren't very highbrow, and I think we'll even get a laugh out. Cheap is good though!

Sorry to intrude on your message board, but I've been reading many posts and noticed that igpjazz said she rented from rentparis recently. Please tell me what your experience was like? Were you pleased with the apt and was it as described? Anything I should be forewarned about? We are renting from them in July. Thanks.
