We have been traded with RCI for a timeshare in Scotland and Spain and had no problems with either. The Spain location was on the costa del sol and couldn't have been more beautiful. I don't recall the name but it was listed as being in Malaga and it was a gold crown resort right on the Mediterr. We absolutely loved Spain -- flew into Madrid, spent 2 days there and drove down to the coast. We are leaving in 4 weeks for a 3-week trip; 1 week at an RCI resort in southern Italy, 1 week 'winging' it, and 1 week at an RCI resort near Munich. Suggest you accept only gold crown or resorts of distinction.

Hi,
We've stayed at:
1. Gassin (next to St. Tropez) at Le Mas de Chastelas; nice townhouse unit. Great location for exploring west Riviera.
2. Villeneuve Loubet (forget timeshare name (Danish company). Wonderful, quiet and safe gated community just west of Nice; good for doing east Riviera. Unit was in a 3 storey apartmen building. Clean and very accommodating management.
3. Oberstaufen (S.W. Germany near juncture of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Alpine resort with wonderful pools facility. Good location for "doing" Switzerland from Zurich east, western Austria and S. German "Alpine Road" castles, etc.
4. Ferienclub at Hinterthal near Maria Alm. Alpine resort south of Salzburg, with good facilities. Nice mountain walking/hiking area, and close to Salzburg and lake resorts.
We always had a car and found these to be good bases from which to do day-trips.
We will stay in Palazzo Catalini in Soriano nel Cimino (about 1 hour north of Rome) during an upcoming trip. Facility sounds very nice and we have had wonderful responses from the resort with respect to queries we have had.
Good luck!
