Thoughts on St Denis Basilica?

It was there but they were testing it last summer to compare with DNA from the closest remaining heir living in Spain. The DNA matched. Don't know if they've returned it yet or not.

I loved St. Denis Basilica. Paris Walks gives a terrific walk there, which made it all the more interesting for me. The guide really knew her history, and was wonderful with her knowledge of gothic architecture. I think they give this walk about once a week, and it's well worth it.

Isn't St. Denis supposed to have carried his recently severed head from the center of Paris to where this basilica was built? A charming story!

I second the Paris Walks tour there, Elaine. The company owners live in St. Denis, so this tour is even more exceptional that their other fine tours.

Also, I suggest that if go in colder months, wear insulated footwear. Like Woody, we went in a colder month and my feet were icebergs.
