Politics are quite immaterial at times like this and should NEVER be pro-offered when tragedy hits.

In Texas, I woke up at 4 AM, had lef tthe TV on clicked the remote to CNN and saw the shocking headline. Suddenly I thought of this forum, and are &quot;my friends&quot; alright. I was lucky enough to visit London last year and received excellent assistance from xyz123 and janis, and always enjoy reading Ben Haines, mkingdom to name a few.

I'm having my wine, thin, because that was what I was drinking at the French film party, where a minite of silence was asked by the French Consolate to pray for London.

I just wanted to tell the British people again how sorry I am for what's happened today. I love England and all of it's people. England has given me some of the happiest memories of my life.

Thanks for London's theatre district, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, Leichester Square, Trafalgar Square, Tower of London, tuna sweet corn sandwiches, the famous fish and chips and everything else I simply cannot fit into one paragraph, or several pages for that matter

My deepest sympathy goes out to the people of London in this sad time and especially to the families of those who were injured or died.

I would have signed in earlier, but I've been trying to hook up my new computer (not as smart as I used to be) and just now got on Fordor's.

We were almost at the end of a very long process to emigrate to the US when 9/11 occurred, 2 adults, 2 children, 4 cats - did we change our plans?

No way! We traveled (hey, Robespierre- my post is about travel) to the US on 11/15/01 and while we were concerned for a period before we flew, we haven’t regretted it in the slightest.

Thank you to all who have welcomed us to the US and have become part of our lives and to the Fodorites who have posted (on whatever post) thank you for your thoughts.

As a Londoner who walked 3 hours to get home last night, who heard of a former colleague in surgery with leg wounds, and a close friend who unbelievably walked away from the Kings Cross train where 21 alone died, I am deeply offended that Fodors have chosen to remove a post which showed so much heart and feeling. What's more, I didn't get to read the majority of the post because I'm in a different time zone. Can I ask all of you to send an email to the editors demanding the return of that post. Will the Fodors editors pay attention - probably not but we can but try!

How bizarre and disappointing it was to find the original thread missing! Perhaps a bit more restraint by those who tend to respond to deliberately provocative posters seeking attention would have avoided this result; but Fodors could and should have handled this in a better way.

In any case, our thoughts are with the Londoners at this time. As a former commuter into this great city of London, via Paddington Station, it is a real shock to see and hear the media coverage of this evil atrocity. However, I'm not at all surprised by the response of the British people to it all. Salute.

What films did they show at the party, Mimi?? And more importantly, what wine did they serve?

I pray God blesses the people of London and all UK residents in the aftermath of this great distress.
