The ONE Florence Hotel

If the cost were no object, which Florence hotel would be your choice?

Villa San Michele in Fiesole, perched in the hills above Florence.

If you are going in summer, one with a swimming pool and air conditioning.

The Villa San Michele certainly has a pool and a view (and cool breezes) that you cannot find in Florence proper. Our friends who live in a villa built more than 500 years ago by the first family of Florence recommend it to their acquaintences in high places. Nice website too.

My choice would depend on the time of year.

Pool and a view of Florence: Villa La Vedetta near Piazzale Michelangelo.

In the middle of the historical center: Rocco Forte Hotel Savoy.

Facing the Arno: Grand Hotel Florence
