Bruges and Amsterdam. Bruges was pretty. Once I'd seen the iconic photo spot it was pretty much, "let's eat and get a beer."
Amsterdam, 4 days was enough. After that we would have to turn to debauchery and we were a few years too late for that. (darn, darn, darn!)

I can't believe Munich and Dublin are on the list.
Rome was dirty and crowded for me. Also a very sad time in general and when I think of it I just go never again.Just didn't appeal to me at all. I have had so much fun in Munich and Dublin so guess the experience is what I love and remember. I have been to Dublin five times and getting ready to head back to Munich for a fifth. I would never go back to Florence but Cinque Terre in a heartbeat.

Madrid. Visited once on vacation and was ready to leave after 3 days (one spent in Toledo).
Been there, done that and not going back. (Have been back twice on business and I always either go to the next city ASAP or arrive there at the last minute.
Caveat: part of my unhappiness was the unexpectedly awful weather (99 and humid at end of April) and the unhelpful/unfriendly staff in our hotel and a couple of restaurants. In all cases the staff obviously treated Spanish -speaking guests (not sure if locals or not) preferentially. (And no, it wasn't us - we didn't find it anywhere else in Spain.)

Thank you nytraveler, maybe you will try Madrid and I Rome another time. I wasn't alone in my group, we all got that feeling. I think it was the crowds and queuing in line in Italy or lack of it. Rude people in general. We all said we wish we had spent more time in other places and skipped Rome.

Amsterdam (the other places I visited in the Netherlands I found much more interesting)
Bergen
Brussels
Basel, maybe (I wasn't there long enough to see a whole lot of it, so it might be interesting to go back; that said, if I HAD seen more of it, that one visit might have been enough)
I like Zagreb (but I know people there, so that biases me) and Kuala Lumpur (which was actually much more interesting that I expected, based on all the "it's SIngapore's and Bangkok's boring cousin" stuff I had read!)
I have never been to Dublin but I have heard a number of people who have describe it as meh.
