the last supper

Has anyone gone to see The Last Supper in Milan, and did you make advance reservations? What was the best way to do this? What was your impression? Any info will be appreciated.

It's beautiful to see, once. We didn't make advance reservations, but if you're going around Easter or Christmas, they're recommended. You may buy a ticket and not get in for an hour, but Santa Maria Della Grazie is a pretty church to explore while you wait.

-Gwen

Thanks for the info. We are going in early Nov, so I guess I can take my chances. I don't want to miss seeing it.
I just made reservations to see The Last Supper through www.italywithus.biz. It cost $5 and they arranged for us to have an English-speaking guide. I'll need pay for my actual tickets at the door about 30 minutes ahead of the reservation time.

I'd advise against going without reservations. Not hard to make. Just have your hotel help you in telephoning that morning or the day before.

Remember, there are 350 million Europeans within one day's drive of Milan, and many of them have had no opportunity to see Il Cenacolo any time in the past 30 years (in restoration from the late 60's to the late 90's).

the crowds are NOT particularly seasonal in nature.

Best wishes,

Rex
I am going on a tour for 11 days in Italy, with only 1 day in Milan - fly out the next day. So I really only have 1 afternoon free in Milan to see The Last Supper. I guess I better make reservations, as I really don't want to miss it. Esther, are you able to pick a time through italywithus? I checked out the website, but didn't ask for time. Possibly our tour director will be able to arrange if I make request at beginning of tour? Anyone have any advice? Thanks
