Terri, you are so kind to spend your time answering my questions when you must be a bit tired from a Wednesday return.

That said....When are we going to see a trip report?

Buy anything fun?

Where was your best meal if you already said no bother. I will check above or wait for your trip report.

Sarah -- Any trip report that I would do right now would be pretty boring..I'm not feeling descriptive or poetic! LOL! Basically what we did was take a book with several walking tours in it, then each day we'd pick 1 or 2 walks to do...with a lot of stopping for coffee, beer or kir when we felt like it!

As to shopping, unfortunately, no, I didn't shop much. I bought one of the brightly colored scarves that everyone was wearing.

I had planned to go to the flea market at St. Ouen on our last full day (Monday) but of course DH was not into it. Next time this will be at the top of my list...I'd like to get some things for our home.

We had a good dinner at the creperie mentioned above -- I had a crepe with reblochon, potatoes and bacon and DH had a crepe with tripe and something else? accompanied by a nice cider.

We also had a memorable dinner one night at Le Trumilou in the 4th. We got the prix fix (at 17 euros) and had a leek tart and dandelion salad with bacon for starters, a wild boar stew and steak with frites for our main courses, a platter of 3 cheeses and creme caramel for dessert. Everything was exceptionally tasty except my steak, which was unremarkable.

About the hotel, hope I didn't steer you away from this area in the 2nd/3rd...we really enjoyed it and you certainly can't beat the price...I just didn't want you to have expectations of being incredibly close to everything. Please let me know what you decide!

Cigal: Good for you!! I like to walk too, but, boy, my feet are kind of achy even now. I think it's time for a massage or at the least, a great pedicure.

Where are you staying in the Marais? We were on the very perimeter of the Marais, bordering the 2nd.

sounds like a good trip report to me thanks terri.

Cig I usually do a lot of walking before trips to build up my strength. Usually I am leaving for summer trips though and that means a 2 mile walk home from work. Its NYC so its not like I am dodging the freeway LOL. I might be at that hotel too. I am just waiting for a ring back. I don't want to move into the more expensive beds for 2.5 feet inbetween.
