Timhotel- Jardin des Plantes

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? We're also thinking about Clunny Sorbonne and Prince Albert in Louvre area.

Yes,
Stayed there December 2000. Hotel was clean and new, not a lot of character but still OK, elevator small (as per norm). I had a standard room, double bed. Room size was not large, but I did not have any complaints. Staff courteous. Didn't have breakfast at hotel. Location was my main reason for choosing it (as well as a promotional rate). About a 2 block walk to Métro (Jussieu, line 7 and 10)and one long block to Seine. Jardin des Plantes is right across the street. Almost right in front of the hotel is a patisserie. Neighbourhood is near university. Wouldn't say that it is very touristy in the area of the hotel. I would say it is a quiet neighbourhood. There is a good selection of restaurants in this general vicinity. Notre Dame would be about a 10 minute walk.
Hope this helps
Mike

I'll also add...there is a nice food market on Wed/Fri/Sun at Place Monge, just around the corner and another nearby at Place Maubert on Tues/Thurs/Sat. They run from 7AM to 2:30

If you are already looking at the Cluny la Sorbonne, you might check it more carefully. It is right across the street from the Metro station of the same name so would be incredibly convenient. It would also be less than a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame and it is right across the street from the Cluny (Medieval) Museum and gardens. Great location.

We haven't stayed there but have stayed in the area. It's very active and lots of fun.
