Temps & Snow?
We're trying for good skiing without being miserably cold Jan 7-14, 2006.
Will Grindelwald have plenty of snow by then? Any guesses on temperature in Zermatt vs. Grindelwald? Which one has more sun?
Thanks.

Please repost your question with some kind of title that lests people have an idea of what you're posting about. For temp averages look at www.weather.com, enter the city and look for averages.

Hi WhitHawaii,
Usually Grindelwald will have good snow by 7-14 January. Actually there is an international ski race held each year in neighboring Wengen on 15 Jan, so it's a pretty good bet for snow (though the race was cancelled a few years ago because of lack of snow . . .). There's also an ice-sculpting competetion in Grindelwald at the same time, so there's a fun, festive spirit and neat sculptures to see over a few days.
I've skied the BO area three times and have skied Zermatt only once. I froze in Zermatt. Blowing winds. Trails were obscured. I've heard Zermatt gets more sun, and there are other trails that don't get the wind -- but I don't really want to go back to find out!
