Take tour of Windsor upon arrival at Heathrow then to hotel iin london
Thinking of touring London next Spring. Thinking to save time get pick up at airport, see Windsor Castle, possibly Oxford then settle to hotel in London probably in Kensington area. Since most fights from USA arrive in morning, thought this would be good to see something near the airport like Windsor/Eton, possibly Oxford then go into London. Anyone know private tour guides. Other thoughts?

A driver guide for the day would be VERY expensive.
In any case - doing a heavy sightseeing day immediately off an over night flight would be very difficult. One option would be to spend your first night IN Windsor - take a local bus or taxi to Windsor, walk around, recover a bit from the jet lag have a nice dinner and a good night's sleep. Visit the Caste the next morning then take a mid day train in to London. OR you could skip Windsor - take the Express coach to Oxford, relax, explore a bit that afternoon and the next morning, then take a train in to London.

Intesting options. Could you give some particulars regarding central location in Windsor to stay; what the express coach details to Oxford, easy location to stay in Oxford. Since we are seniors schlepping luggage not the easiest; hence, thinking of convenience, and a smooth operation. Of course costs will need to be factored and weighed against exhaustion.

Windsor is a small town - there are several hotels in the very center, and the Castle and train station are also in the center of town.
National Express runs express coaches from LHR to Oxford (there is no train from LHR to Oxford - one would have to take either two trains or a coach and a train so the express coach is much easier) . https://www.nationalexpress.com/en/destinations/oxford There are hotels in the center of Oxford.
Before we can recommend hotels in either Windsor or Oxford (you can't really do both) . . . what is your budget?

train station are also in the center of town.> there are two train stations - Riverside right under the castle on the Thames and Windsor Central also near the castle - as they go to different places in London if going to London by train check which one will be better for you or buses.

Yes Pal . . . there are two stations in the center of Windsor. Once the OP knows where they are staying in London . . . then we can recommend which one to use. For now - just know there are trains from Windsor to London.

If bags are small enough, they can be left at cloakroom at castle. If hiring a car service, they will look after your although they may charge an additional ( small ) fee.
Oxford train station us undergoing extensive renovations which can mean delays and the use buses which can be a hassle.

Windsor on your first day is a nice idea. We stayed at the Harte & Garter Hotel, which is directly across from the Castle and very reasonably priced. We dropped the bags at the hotel and went straight to the Castle. I bought tickets online beforehand and was glad I did. Although it was a Tuesday in mid-September, there was a very long line and we were able to walk right in. You will be able to take the train into London the next day. Enjoy!
