Nice and Greece

Our travel buddies have suggest a trip combining these two countries. We usually travel for about two weeks. We would want Athens and an island (of course) but from research I have done in the past, this is not the easiest trip logistically. Suggestions, comments? Thanks!

I would choose one or the other. Athens and an island, add Napflio in tne Peloponnesean Peninsula two hours drive from Athens and you have a wonderful trip. Or Nice and it’s environs, add Provence.

Logistically not a good pairing. Plus Greece can easily consume more than two weeks - I spent six and only scratched the surface. I've also spent a couple of weeks in Nice with day trips, although split between two trips.

I agree that the logistics make combining the two complicated, and would mean loss of a chunk of time to transportation. I also agree with HappyTrvlr and thursdaysd that there is more than enough to do in each area with the time you have.

Aegean and Air France have some direct flights from Nice to Athens. Otherwise fly via Rome, Madrid, Venice, Palermo or another European airport.
