T-Mobile international calling question

I just switched to T-mobile. Every thread plus T-Mobile's website say calls are 25 cents a minute but the guy in the store said that was only between T-Mobile accounts/phones (and to call others I would need to buy an international plan). I have not heard or read that anywhere, and really don't see how that could be as it says it includes landlines and landlines are not T-mobile - so I'm hoping the guy was just wrong but wanted to check.

Those of you who have used T-mobile in Europe to make calls - were they really just 25 cents a minute regardless of who you called? (I know only in 210 countries, but where I'm going/calling is included in those).

Thanks

I have Tmobile but not the type of plan that allows that, so can't say for sure. But I think it would probably be helpful for you to say which Tmobile plan you do have, for folks to be sure. I have a prepaid plan and they don't include that feature, for example.

I think the store guy is wrong, also, but I'm not an expert.

I was just briefly looking at their plans. It looks like their Magenta plan allows for this.

To call Europe from the US, you need a T-Mobile international plan.

When you ARE roaming in Europe, you don't need any additional plan - calls are 25 cents a minute to all US numbers - landlines, cell phones, Verizon, T-Mobile, anyone. Calls to most non-US numbers are also 25 cents a minute. Some countries not on their list of international calling countries may not be covered.

If you'd prefer to make free calls to US numbers, even landlines, install the Google Voice app on your phone. Works on WiFi. With the slow 2G T-Mobile data, it may work also but it might be a tad slow.

Finally...if your phone supports the "WiFi calling" feature, you can make free calls to US numbers while your phone is on WiFi...IF your phone has the "WiFi calling" feature turned on. It's more than just "connect your phone to WiFi then call" - you must have the feature on your phone and must have it turned on.
