Going to Europe in early Sept/Oct 03..
Thought about taking along mucho music CDs which I can obtain very reasonably. What do you think about 2 possibiities;
.. Using Cds to barder such things as; tours, meals, mailing, etc.(suggestions welcome if you think there is a possibiity)
--Using CDs as tips for services?

Jimar, what is your native language and country? Because I think you may be assuming Western Europe is like some other less-developed places, and it isn't. Even in the very few cases you might be able to "tip" with a CD (I would forget paying for things), it would have to be something very popular, in demand, and desired by the person you were tipping, and I don't think you could know what that might be.
CDs are very heavy to lug around, and it appears you are proposing stolen merchandise, which could cause problems for you (aside from the ethics), so I think it would be better for you to pay for things and tip in local currency -- that way you won't have to weigh down your luggage, either.

Money is what most people are looking for so they can buy their own taste in CDs. I can see my reaction if my boss tried to pay my overtime in swap items. CDs for friends perhaps, but not someone supplying services to you.

Not so far fetched an idea as you think. I know a music biz exec. who does take CD's from his company on trips to use as tips for favors, he keeps them on his yacht, no less, that he docks in So. of France certain times of year.
The wealthy didn't get that way by chance, alot of them are notoriously "thrifty" and can be crass in their dealings with the hoi polloi.
