Suggestions & pricing for a driver from Siena to florence

Need pricing & suggestions for a driver from Siena back to Florence. Want to see a winery and some art in a few hill towns. There will be 3 of us, traveling in early June.
Appreciate your help!!

Do you want to begin from Siena (with your luggage) and end up in Florence at the end of the day after doing some winery tours? If that's the case, there are quite a few recommendations for tour guides on this site. Try entering Tuscany tour guides in the Search box.

What do you mean that you want to see "some art" in a few hill towns?

There are a lot of reviews on Fodor's for this driver/guide.

Joannyc: there is some excellent art in monasteries along the way. We will be in Siena for the weekend, returning to florence on a Monday, so we need the driver/guide for the day, a one way trip. Trying to find out what a reasonable fee for this will be. Got one quote of 373 euros. Does that sound typical?

While I have't done that. I'd say that fee sounds high....check other comments on this site.

Where are the places that you would like to see?

Suzie, several years ago we used COUNTRY TOURS,a tour company based in Siena - we were quite satisfied with their service. They will make suggestions and individualize your excursion.

I have used Luca at hillsandroads.com in the past and had a wonderful day. For a comparison in pricing to the quote you received, look at Customized Services on his website. For 3 people, the charge is 40 euro per hour (not per person). So, for example, if you toured for 8 hours, that would be 360 euro. We thought it was well worth the cost.

We used Chianti Drivers while staying outside Florence. Our driver's name was Simone. He was always prompt, spoke English well, and his vehicle was clean. I can't remember what we paid, but he picked us up at Florence train station and drove us to Impruneta. We used him to take us to a wine tasting tour/lunch, a day tour of Tuscany and to the Florence airport. The amount of 400 is in my mind. Whether that is Euros or U.S. funds I am sorry I don't remember.

Many things close on Mondays. You should check with the monasteries before planning this excursion.

Several years ago, we did something similar with Lucca at Hillsandroads.com. Spending time with him and touring the area was one of the highlights of our 3-week Italian trip.
