Sugestion for hotels in Rome

i will be travelling with my wife from 30th July to 4th August (5 nights) to Rome. need suggestion for hotel stay. main requirments - economic hotel, clean rooms, central location (as far as possible) from where the main locations are close, safe area.
Please provide suggestions. I know i can look in booking.com, but any inputs will be very helpful here.

What does "economic" mean? How many euros a night do you want to spend?

Loved the area around the Pantheon, very safe, far from the hubbub, but still walkable to most of the places you would want to explore. Many hotels in that area. The one we stayed in was pricey, but I'm sure you could research and find some with the requirements that you are looking for.

To help you we need to know a specific amount in euros.

Also - you say you require economic, clean and central. Do you also need AC (Rome is summer is hot as hell), private bath and elevator - or are you willing to forego these amenities?

AC and private bath - YES.
since I would be out the whole day, i would not like to spend more than 80 euros (approx) per night.

That is extremely low, especially for private bath, A/C and central location. Try using a booking engine, like venere.com or hotels.com and see what is available for that price point.
