Stephen's Green Hotel or Davenport Hotel - Dublin -- Best Location?

Anyone familar with these two hotels, both are run by the same hotel company. One is at the southwest corner of St. Stephens Green, while the other (Davenport) is on the Northeast corner of Merrion Square. Which is the better location, and any comments on the hotels is appreciated.

both are excellent locations. I'd find it hard to choose between them to be honest. The Stephens Green one is closer to Grafton Street, but the Davenport is also within walking distance. The only downside I can see to either is that there are roadworks going on outside the Stephens Green hotel at the moment - so there may be a bit of noise as a result.

cailin: Thanks for the quick response, I've heard work is being done on the LUAS, but I understand it will be done shortly and we're not traveling until July.

Are you at all familar with the quality of the hotels?

We were in Dublin this past summer and I would stay at the St. Stephens Green location--it's more convenient to the main attractions. Enjoy!

Frank - the Luas works on that line should be finished by the end of May/early June. I'm afraid seeing as I live here, I've never stayed in either hotel. Both look nice from the outside though! I checked on tripadvisor and both got good reviews!
