Dublin - Brooks Hotel or Morrison Hotel?

Hi all. I am going to Dublin next month and can't decide which hotel to book, the Brooks or the Morrison.

Can you give me some advise on location, rooms, breakfast on any of these hotels?

At first I was thinking of booking the Clontarf Castle Hotel but as I am a woman travelling alone I think it will be very far away from the city center and I am doing a day trip to Wicklow and possibly will go to the west by train, which means a lot of trouble I guess if I stay away from the center. What do you think?

Thanks in advance

Teresa

I asked a friend who lives in Dublin and his response was "the Morrison is fancy." I'm sure that is of little help to you but I had to laugh - men!

Teresa, My husband and I are staying at The Brooks Hotel in late April. The reviews on TripAdvisor were very good. We were able to get a great rate on Expedia a few months ago. I have already been in contact with the concierge about car rental and a few other things and they have been exceptionally helpful.

Brooks hotel - definitely. I am from Dublin and have had people stay here when visiting and they have all reported that the hotel and staff are first rate.

It is 10 mins walk from Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green. It is down a side street and the views are non existant, but the hotel is very comfortable and welcoming.

Thanks all for your helpful replies. I think I will be booking the Brooks then.

I have stayed in the morrison. It used to be very cool, but is now looking a bit frayed round the edges. I too would recommend Brookes....though if you are looking for a hotel, my favourite is the Fitzwilliam

Last January we stayed at the Brooks Hotel. Had a very pleasant stay...very convenient location...terrific staff...nice lounge/bar area.
Yes, we'd stay there again!!
