Hotel Orologio, right off the main square, lovely tho small rooms, beautiful marble br, nice breakfast with lots more than the usual, and central location, and a parking lot very near.

Hotel Roma is an excellent choice. Great location; right in the middle of town.

We've booked at Albergo al Capello Rosso near P. Maggiore. It sounded like it might be adequate and central from the little I gathered about it.

Good morning, akg
Have to vote for the HOTML ROMA, stayed thre and was extremely satisified with it, both service and
accomodations. Also stayed at the \
Capelko Russo which is just across the
rear street fromthe Roma and found it
very much like a prefabricated motel
room,, both are four star.

Hi alg,

While in Bologna, visit Gelateria Moline, Via delle Moline 13, for superb gelato.

Nuovi Notai, Via de' Pignattari 1, and Da Cesarina, across the piazza from San Stefano are two very good restaurants.

Any suggestions for a rustic but elegant hotel with scenary near Bologna. We are looking for a hotel in the country, perhaps on some vineyards as a base to explore Bologna and the surrounding towns.

dicky2, I guess I picked a doozie with re to Capello Rosso. When I had to pick one, my choices in Travelocity weren't too hot--couldn't pull up anything central.

Well, it's only for 2 nights. As long as it's clean...

We stayed at Hotel Porta San Mamolo a small and wonderful hotel. One block off the ring that runs around the old city. We had room 204 with a little deck overlooking a courtyard. Staff was best we had in EM area. Had dinner 2 x's at Da Cesari the best resturant. Everything is in walking distance. 2/3 days is enough.
By the way, room was 155 Euro

Went for a day in Parma and that was great eat in a saluminari (sp)
