St. Pancras Station to Victoria Coach Station

Arriving London from Paris via St. Pancras Station. Please advise best route possible to Victoria Coach Station to board National Express bus to Southampton. . Final destination is Southampton to board cruise next day. Two adults travelling with luggage. Suggestions welcome for other means of transport to Southampton...

If you want to take the tube take the victoria line to Victoria. Otherwise take a taxi.

Assuming you have quite a lot of, or big, luggage like many cruisers seem to . . . You will have a real slog walking from Victoria Tube station to Victoria coach station.

Just take a cab from St Pancras . . . But it will be expensive.

Trains from London Waterloo to Southampton take about 1h 15m compared to 2h 15m for the National Express coaches. Operate more frequently as well, but probably more expensive.

Oh --I didn't notice your last sentence/question. I'd definitely take the train from Waterloo rather than a Coach from Victoria.

However, there isn't a direct tube connection so I'd still take a cab from St Pancras to Waterloo (unless you are packing light)

The most straightforward way to get from Paris to Southampton is to fly. To Southampton, which boats Europe's second most user-friendly (after London City) international airport.

There are just two arguments for putting up with the horrors of the Gare du Nord (Europe's most ineptly managed railway station), the half-mile trek from some Eurostar carriages to the St Pancras taxi rank and Victoria Coach Station itself (don't even think of getting public transport to it, because there isn't any) all for the privilege of paying twice as much and taking three times as long as the flight.

- You're writing a book on pointless ways of inflicting pain on yourself, or
- You actively enjoy train journeys where there's absolutely nothing to see.

Fly to Southampton from Paris

or

Book a Megatrain ticket and take the train from Waterloo to Southampton - takes 90 minutes and costs from £1.00 - no that isn't a misprint, it really does start at ONE POUND.

Of course flying is by far the easiest - but I assumed the OP has already (unfortunately) purchased Eurostar tix.
