Spain Trip

Hello,

My Husband and I will be traveling to Spain. So far, our itinerary looks like this:
Flying out from US. We want to include these locations on our travel: Madrid, Barcelona and Mallorca. How should we consider our Route? Any suggestion will be great help. So, far we have it like this.
Arriving Monday morning to Madrid (2 days) train to Barcelona for 2 days and fly to Mallorca for 4 days and return back to the states from Mallorca. Is that a good itinerary?

2 days in Madrid gives you just about 1 day, during which you will have jet lag. IMO, Madrid easily deserves 4 or 5 days, not counting day trips.

2 days in Barcelona gives you just about 1 day. IMO, Barcelona easily deserves 4 or 5 days, not counting day trips.

So I would not want your itinerary. YMMV.

Good luck!

Need to clarify -- how long is the trip in total?

To get 2 days in Madrid you need 3 nights, 2 days in Barcelona = 3 nights, and 4 days in Mallorca = 5 nights . . . plus travel time = approx 12 days total. Or do you have less?

janisj has posed the critical question. While my counting was off (what happened there?!?), my recommendations for numbers of days stand.

If the above math is in the ballpark, give or take a day or night, then I would skip Mallorca. It's about the beach and sand and water - surely you can access beach and sand and water closer to home? Madrid (and its day-trip environs!!!) deserves, well, all the time you have, really, and then there's Barcelona, and your trip is over!

@ Robert2016: I'm curious -- WHY does which Monday matter in this case?

The time of year matters, at least to me. Arriving on a Monday morning in May is certainly different then arriving on a Monday morning in July or August when Mallorca will be overcrowded with tourists, and hot in Madrid.

@ Robert -- I can understand asking about time of year -- which, IMO, is very different than asking about which specific Monday. As a solo traveller, in a world where internet communications are all too easily hacked (and so revealing personal information, including one's address), I would advise against giving a specific date. JMO.

Why do you want to visit Mallorca for twice as much time as Madrid and Barcelona combined?
