Spain in October w/o hotel reserves
I went to Spain in July of this year. Loved it! I'm going back by myself and will visit friends I made while I was there. They've offered me to stay with them, but I don't want to impose on them, and I wanted to leave options open. I will be in the south part, Andalusia region. I want to visit Toledo, Cordoba, and Granada, as well as the coast. I'll be there from the 9th to the 20th and flying into Madrid. I plan on using the trains/buses for transportation. At that time of year, do I need to make advance reservations on hotels? Any advice, comments, or questions???

I suggest you search past posts on this board by "Olga". She is in the hotel business in Sevilla my recollection is that she says October is a busy month. However, based on my experience, I'd not worry about it. As long as you are flexible, and hit the "tourist info" stations I think you'll be OK.

Hi, Igrene
Sorry, but October is high season in all those cities you will be visiting.
Specially, the national holiday long weekend of the 10 thru the 13 October. A lot of people in Spain go visit other towns in that particular weekend and we are solid booked already, so are many others, from what people tell me when they call us.
I would make a cancelable within 24h. hotel reservation in each of those cities just in case. Just keep track of them and the cancelation period and you'll be ok.

Olga - is the end of October (26-29) a busy time? I was hoping to complete a tour that runs 10/19-25 and then decide where to spend a few extra days. This is 1st trip to Spain and there's so much to see!
Thanks for your information.
