Spain and around that for 2 weeks
Hi, we are making a visit to Spain for attending a wedding from 10-12th Sept in 2015. We want to combine travel before or after this event. In all a total of about 3 weeks.
Our interest is nature, exploring cuisine and seeing what is the new in country ... so a little bit of walking is OK.
I know Greece and Barcelona are highly favourites. But what are the places which we can enjoy have good time well spent, walk a little bit not too much within a small budget.
Need to know the specific names of places, how much time to spend, what to explore and some idea about where to stay, if homestay or safe airbnb recommended.
What to carry (from India). .... we are not fond of museums, love water, greens and places of Joy.

Hi shelloni - where in Spain is the wedding?
BTW, just to let you know, Greece is different country to Spain, and quite a way away from it. Other prominent cities often visited by tourists in Spain besides Barcelona are Madrid, the capital, and Seville, Granada and Malaga in the south and Bilbao and San Sebastian in the north.

If you like green areas with a beach and nature, there are many areas i could recommend in Greece.
Athens is only 3 hours away from Barcelona, so getting there should not be a problem.
I think you should have a look at the map, do some home work to see what interests you in each country, and come back to the forum to get more advice.

Greece is 3 hours from Barcelona BY AIR.
There are many wonderful place in Spain and France that will be much closer - but Greece is, like Spain, one of the least expensive places in europe. You might also consider Portugal as a budget destination.
Agree that you should look at a couple of guide books or tour brochures to get ideas of what you want to see/do.

Annhig, I don't think people would have a problem finding Santiago on a map. People, millions of them, have been tramping across Europe just to stand in front of the Cathedral for 100s of years, even 1000s. I'm told it's because the tortilla is quite good.

well, as the OP seemed to think that Greece was in Spain, I'm not sure that can be taken for granted, Mac. I'm not criticising the OP for that BTW; were I visiting India I'm sure that I would start from a pretty low base geography wise too.
[it may be of course that I've got that wrong, in which case I apologise]
and as NYT says, Greece is only 3 hours away from Barcelona by air.
