I think the part of the trip to Bormes you might enjoy the most, is visiting Bormes then back through La Mole. We've driven the coast section 3-4 times, and as I remember, there is a log of vegetation between the road & the shoreline - offering fewer views than you might want.
Gassin & Ramatuelle are both worth visiting. Things close for lunch in Bormes.
The road from Port Grimaud to St Tropez is quite ugly - lots of commerce. South of St Tropez is scenic.

Just noticed that your travel plans are for mid-Oct. You should not see huge crowds in St Tropez then. We stayed in St Tropez from about Sept 10 to Sept 24 a few years ago - and it was amazing how the crowds dwindled over that period.

I have noticed that my tentative choice for a hotel in St. Tropez (Hotel la Mediterranee) was shot down by several (meaning many) people on various websites.....I could use some help for an alternative.
Also, if any of you have recommendations of hotels for Aix and St. Remy.
