SOS - need Help in planning itinerary for 8 days of South France
Hi, I will be in France for 14 days in July.
And plan to spend 8 days in South of France; so need advices for itinerary planning. I hv Arles and Avignon in mind but need to know what other places that I should not miss. So pls also recommend some budget hotel or apartment for those places. Thank you very much : >

It's a huge area--Cote d'Azur, Provence, Languedoc-Roussillon--and an itinerary would depend very much on your interests. We're going in the fall for our fourth visit to the south of France in five years, and I very much doubt we'll be covering much of the same ground. I suggest you buy a guidebook (or two or three) and decide on what you want to see and do whether you want to travel from a base or stay in several different places.
We rent houses by the week from their owners (over the Internet), and there are hundreds of places to choose from.

Hi
Cluny is right .......... you will only have time to skim the surface.
You need to research a little and focus on your interests.
My homepage has information about Languedoc : http://tlp.netfirms.com
There are similar sites for other parts of South France.
Bon voyage

I used http://www.stopoverconnections.com for my recent visit to the Paris area - they seem to have good value guest houses and small hotels all over France and I was pretty impressed with their service. Don't know about where to see or what to do in the South though, as I haven't been there yet!
