Sorrento Hotels

Staying 4 nights in Sorrento in May. We're considering either of these hotels.

www.minervasorrento.com

www.casastarita.com

We will not have a car. Would appreciate any comments from those in the know about this area. Also is it an easy walk from Minerva into town?
TIA

Look up the addresses on www.mappy.com. That site has an option for mapping pedestrian journeys and will tell you the distance and time.

I don't know your budget or your tastes. That said, Minerva is across the street from the fabulous view of Naples harbor. It is a 10 minute walk to town with a moderate hill involved. I cannot tell the location of Casa Starita, but it appears to have no view of the bay at all. We stayed at Settimo Cielo (Seven Clouds) and were blown away by the view. It is located a few meters from Minerva, but directly on the bay. Check it out for yourself. You will LOVE Sorrento! It is one of my favorite cities.

Did you mean this Mineravetta? It is on the sea side from the one you listed. Excellent in every way!

No, its not the same one but I will check it out. I'm up for all suggestions. Trying to stay under $200 a night.
The Casa Starita is right in the old town center and I'm thinking it might be noisy.Anyway I sure would like a great view.

In my opinion I would always opt for the view hotel in that area. It is just too beautiful to miss from your room. Look at the Settimo Cielo which was just mentioned, it is less expensive.

Thnak you all for your help. I just went to the Settimo Cielo site and I think it's just what I'm looking for.
I like the fact it's right on the bay .
Sending an availability e-mail.
