Sorrento

This might be difficult, but the depth of knowledge on here might just have the answer.

I am arranging a trip for 5 couples to Sorrento for an organisation with a limited budget. We'd like a smaller hotel in Sorrento, preferably with a pool, views of the sea, of a 4 star standard, all for between €100 to €150 per night including breakfast and an easy stroll into the town centre.

We've just stayed at just such a place in Mallorca, small hotel with 10 or 12 rooms but like a small boutique type hotel and would like if possible to replicate that in Italy. Any ideas please?

We will be in Sorrento in late September. We tried to reserve at Il Nido, a popular hotel on this board and Trip Advisor. They did not have rooms available for the time of our stay but recommended Hotel La Vue D'Or - (www.lavuedor.com), next door. This hotel was also favorably reviewed on Trip Advisor. It meets all of your criteria but is outside of the center of Sorrento. It would be a longer walk however they offer shuttle service to and from the center of town hourly. The rates are about 135 euro per night.

Understand I can't recommend the hotel from personal experience but I had enough positive feedback to make a reservation.

We stayed at La Vue D'Or last summer. We thought it was terrific. As mamcalice said it would be a long walk. In fact, I wouldn't even try it. Too much traffic on the road. Perhaps there is a hiking route.

Great view. Nice pool. Very reliable shuttle.

We stayed at Hotel Settimo Cielo (7th heaven). It is on the Capo a short walk from downtown and because of its elevation it has terrific views. They also have a pool. Although it is not quite as small as you would like it is terrific value for money. Breakfast in a dining room with amazing views is included. Our room had its own terrace with stunning views. Check out their website.

We are staying at Minerva Hotel and there is also La Minervetta, right on the boardwalk?

Thank you for the replies. I'll check all those out, but the reason for needing to be fairly near the centre is for mobility reasons with one or two of the group.

Any others?
