Solo woman traveler
Would anyone be able to recommend a reputable fun tour group for summer travel to Greece (Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini for a single, career aged (late 30's)woman? I would love to travel with others who site see during the day, but go clubbing at night. Contiki is too young, but sounds like fun. Does anyone know of Trafalgar's breakaway tours, intrepid tours, or Adventures Abroad? Any other suggestions?

Even though you posted it on the "Solo Traveler" forum, this was a much better message header - - http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34760424
"Summer Greece tours for singles"
I'd suggest that you re-post here on the Europe forum, with this better message header...
Best wishes,
Rex

Hi There,
I took a London/France singles tour with http://singlestravelcompany.com/ last year. They are a great company to work with.

I haven't used them and don't know anyone who has, but saw mentioned in various places the company www.osolomio.com
Their tours loos reasonable and like a good group, and are not for the real young.

I used O Solo Mio for a trip to Hong Kong in 2004 for Chinese New Year and was not thrilled with the company. Long story short, I was coming from the East Coast to meet up with the group at SFO, they had a flight change and could not send me the tickets in time so they told me they would met me at the airport with my tickets. I don't like planning a trip without having all my documents in my possession! I wasn't too happy with the "customer service" aspect of this company. The tour group was originally supposed to be 8 people, but 5 backed out(claiming "SARS" concerns) and so there were only 3 of us....maybe that was a sign, but I ended up having a good time while in Hong Kong, just wouldn't use that company again.
I have also traveled with All Singles Travel based in Atlanta, again not to thrilled with them, but some on my tour liked the group, I just didn't care for the guide from that company, but that's a personal preference (he was all about buying souvenirs, now like to shop, but this guy was ridiculous...always making the group late).
Having had the 2 experiences above, last year I went on a Rick Steves tour (as a single and was paired with a roommate) and it was by far superior to the "singles" tour companies. I'm also in my late 30's and was one of the younger ones of the group (there were a couple other 30-somethings), but it was a great time. The trip was just the right mix of group time/sightseeing with free time to do whatever the individuals wanted and for a solo traveler it was nice to have people to go out with at night to the pubs (I went to Ireland). In fact I enjoyed this tour so much I am booked on another one (to Central Europe) in September.
Rick Steves does do a tour of Greece, but I believe it does not include Mykonos and Santorini.
Post back if you find a good solo travel company, I'm always keeping my eyes open for a solo travel company that's a good "fit" with my travel style!
