luvtravl,
I travelled w/ many US folks for work in the past year and I had some cronic DP & MD drinkers who did have some trouble finding them!
Some Tesco shops carried DP I know for sure, but it certainly was not a fixture. I think MD only showed up but once or twice if ever. Coke & Pepsi & Fanta were the most constant brand recognizable to Americans I think.

Soft drinks in Europe are very different than the US. You will have a hard time finding anything like Dr Pepper or Mt Dew in Ireland muss less their diet version.
Sugared drinks even taste different in Europe and Ireland soecifically becuase of the sweetners they use. Most Euorpean soft drinks use sugar beets while American soft drinks use high frutgose corn syrup.
If you have a desire for an energy drink in Ireland like Red Bull last I heard they were illegal because of several deaths relating to mixing (heavily I might add) Red Bull and Vodka.
Be safe aand take a 12 pack with you and ration it our.
Good Luck
