soccer?
I'm taking my 15 year old daughter to spain the last week of march. how do I find out if there is a madrid or barcelona game when i'm in one of those cities? I'm only in each for 3 and 4 days, so it would have to be very good luck, but where should I look? (and what are the team names?)
Thanks - Monica

Aiyiyi. Football! Match! My kids are right, I'm lame, and shameless!
Thanks for the site, I think I've figured out that there are no FOOTBALL MATCHES near where we'll be. It was a long shot, she would have loved it - and she would have known the right wording!
Thanks again,
Monica

I've looked at schedules and you're right..there's no match that week because on Saturday 24 March our national team plays against Denmark on the qualifying round for the Euro Championship. I don't know where they play these time but it's not usually in Barcelona or Madrid , they play in different cities in Spain to give people the chance to see them playing

Even if their is no game you can visit the Barcelona "pitch" and also the training "ground" (this is fun) and I understand this is a great visit for the football mad.
Might also be worth checking our woman's football in Spain as the Italians have a female pro-league and so may Spain

Spain has a woman's league...but it is far from being a pro I mean, it's an amateur league. No money enough for them, it's a real pity because many of them are really good.
And yes, the visit of the Barcelona stadium is a must for every football fan (and even for the ones that are not) when you are there. They have a museum of the club's history and the gifts many artists made them (mostly paintings). And also you can visit the stadium..even the changing rooms if the players are not in

Soccer is a synonym for this type of football. Educated speakers in various parts of the English-speaking world use both terms, so either is correct, though one term will be more common than other depending on your location.
