We are going to London in November - I know not a great time of the year, but it is partially a business trip. We prefer small quaint inn or hotel type places to stay and wonder if anyone can help with suggestions.

Took a quick look at the Rookery Hotel and it looks fantastic - thanks for the tip.

I have been in London the last 2 Novembers and I would disagree that it is not a great time of the year to go. The weather is cooler, the place isn't overrun with tourists, museums are less crowded, the airfare is cheaper. The fall is my favorite season in London and Europe for that matter.

Check out the Franklin, on the very cool & trendy Egerton Terrace. Pricely but worth it, especially if you can write off a portion of the expense. Franklinhotel.co.uk JP

Not sure if the Basil Street Hotel qualifies as an inn, but more quaint you'll never get. It's quite expensive, but worth every penny. We save up and stay there every third or fourth trip to England. Don't be surprised if you see Miss Marple having tea in the Parrot Club - a wonderful hideaway for the Basil's female visitors and their guests. Visit at www.thebasil.com/

The Goring, near Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station, could certainly be termed quaint--nice place. It was the first London hotel to have bathrooms for every room.

I would definitely second the recommendation for the Basil Street Hotel. Afternoon tea in the drawing room is a delight.
