Slovenia - how safe traveling alone?
I am thinking of traveling to Slovenia alone. I iwll be picking up a new BMW on the trip. How safe is it to drive and park your car? In the past, I had problems in Hungary. I parked at a small village to explore and someone tried to break in and jammed my locks, so my key would not work. If I drive, do I need to find secure parking to be safe? The areas I am considering driving to are Lake Bled and Kobarid.

We travelled through Slovenia 3 years ago and loved it! It is clean and a darling of the european union. We were in Lake Bled and it is very nice with good restaurants and B&B's. We also stayed in the Julian Alps at a remote B&B and it was spotless and wonderful. We did not go to the other town you mentioned. Slovenia felt very safe. We would love to go back.

This question to me is not so much about personal safety of a woman traveling alone, rather the safety of driving a brand spanking new BMW in an area you aren't familiar with. I would do your trip, then pick up your new car at the end of it instead.

We weren't driving a BMW but we felt perfectly comfortable leaving our car when we were in the Lake Bled area. Slovenia is nothing like Hungary, it's more like Germany's friendlier brother.
You should really go and visit the national park just north of Lake Bled. The road winds through the alps into Italy and the views are just spectacular.

The danger of your new car being broken open is rather severe.
Guarded parking is what you should be looking for. I have GPS surveillance installed. It's rather cheap and in case, the police can pinpoint the location of you car.
It may be looking safe, but it is not safe for your new BMW.

I am Slovenia - right now. Great country. Modern. Wonderful roads and people.
No issues with cars. I rented from Hertz in Croatia with no issues taking the car into Slovenia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Italy.
