Triste/Udine
My daughter (15) is going to Italy with a trip she received a scholarship for, with 19 other kids from our tri-state area. When she comes home, 6 days later on Aug. 8, we leave for our long planned family trip to Italy! Now our plan is for me, to go over one week earlier, pick her up and travel.
She will be outside of Venice in Lignano Sabbiadoro, not far from Trieste and Udine. I have 6 days to travel and 3 of them will be in Paris. Since we will spend 3 days in Venice with our family trip, one week later, I ask if it is best to see Trieste and Udine? Maybe I should go right to Paris and return to Venice a couple of days before meeting my family. There is a lot to see and even though our family wants to see Murano and Burano, I don't think we'll get to Tocello island nor il Lido. Then again, I don't know if I will ever get to Udine or Trieste.
What might you do?

I didn't spend too much time in Ljubljana but it's a beautiful little old style town, a cross between Austrian and Yugoslavian. It has a nice market and is worth a visit. Lake Bled is beautiful. It's a charming little mountain lake with an island in the middle with an old Church. You can boat or hike or just relax. Google Lake Bled images.
