Sliema or St Julian

What Elvira says is true if you stay anywhere. But my choice would be to book at one of the good hotels where you won't be hearing the noise, but still in the centre of things. My recommendations are: Hilton (the best), the Corinthia San Gorg or the Radisson SAS (hot contestants). Sliema is too old fashioned these days.

Expect some of the bookings to drop ... they are mass bookings with numbers unconfirmed. I actually heard (reliably) one of these hotels has overbooked by 20% knowing that there will be many cancellations. I would still try the Hilton ... believe me it's worth it. But Corinthia San Gorg (but not the other Corinthias) is just as good. Are you aware how hot it will be in August, by the way ?<BR>Anyway, if there is anything else you wish to ask about Malta, feel free. Have a nice trip. And you might wish to spend a night in Gozo, which is even nicer than Malta but very small. There I recommend the San Lawrenz, Mgarr Hotel or St Patricks' Hotel in that order.
