St. Lucia/St. Vincent/Dominica
Can anyone recomend an inexpensive villa/small hotel property on any of these three. Will be there hopefully in July 05---flying into St. Lucia and will spend a week at Jalousie. Stayed two weeks at Jalousie last year and need to mix it up for one of the weeks next year.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hey there - I don't have any referrals for you, but did wonder about your experiences at Jalousie. We're going for 9 days this January, and would like to hear what you enjoyed or didn't enjoy. Thanks and good luck!

LauraElizabeth, there was not much we didn't enjoy. It is a lush island, Jalousie is very nice, good plunge pool, nice staff and people in StL very nice I thought. We have been to alot of the more developed islands and found this one refreshing in its naturalness. The food is fair----best at the fine dining room and very good at Ladera and Bang. The snorkeling is good at Jalousie and Anse Chastenet is good also. Take water taxis---quicker and about the same price.
Let me know if I can tell you more!!!

You won't find the luxury like on St. Lucia on Dominica...its pretty simple hotels with some more upscale, though not much, cottage type accomodation. For St. Vincent, much of the same.....really recomment from St. Vincent go to Bequia. Just my thoughts. Have a great trip and happy holidays!

Traveler863, thanks. I am looking for something out of the way like St. Vincent---a comfortable hotel. However, I haven't ruled out Bequia---just a little longer to get there. Any recomendations on hotels/guest houeses?
Anyone been to an alternate destination in conjunction with St. Lucia?
Happy Holidays!

Croix,
For St. Lucia check into possibilities with Tropical Villas at:
http://www.tropicalvillas.net/
On Bequia, try the Old Fort Hotel...very small(6 rooms) very intimate great hiking on the property though not beach front at:
http://www.oldfortbequia.com/
On Bequia also look at villas, try:
http://www.bequia.net/villas.htm
In particular, click to page 2 and look at Lime Cottage.
Happy travels and Merry Christmas!
