SITA busses in Positano, what time do they stop?
Hi
Going to Positano this summer and have a reservation at Restaurant Donna Rosa in Montepertuso. It's about 4 km from Positano. Our reservation is at 8:30pm. Would like to know if the SITA bus runs until midnight or so? Or what time does it stop for the evening? Thanks for all your help, we don't want to rent a car if we really don't need one.

We ran into this last May. We ate in Ravello at Cumpa' Cosimo (vg) & needed late nite transport back to Conca dei Marini about 3kms west of Amalfi. Netta (CC owner) phoned our hotel who sent a car as taxis were not available (?). Cost was 50 euros for 20 minute drive. Ouch!

We shared another taxi Amalfi to Conca (13 euros) with a couple from TX when the bus was mobbed & filled up. Positano to Amalfi was 50 euros for them.

Lewis

We had a car, but left it at the hotel. We only used it to/from Amalfi coast. Parking can be a major issue & we were drinking a bottle of wine each nite at dinner & did not want to drive for obvious reasons.

One nite, a restaurant picked us up & dropped us off for free - Al Pesce d Oro - near Amalfi.

To get to Ravello, we bused up & taxied back.

I would suggest a combination of bus & taxis & skip the car. The roads are a blast though . . .

Lewis - The Positano-Montepertuso service is not run by Sita. It's a local service run by FlavioGioia. The website is:
www.flaviogioia.com

The website currently shows the winter timetable (-last year's ...) - so I would check it nearer the time.

[Even if you have to walk back it's not very far - less than 30 mins (via the short-cut) back down to Bar Internazionale (- from where you can catch the Positano internal service, which runs late in summer).

Steve
