shuttle/fixed price bus from fiumicino to ciampino??
Just wondering if there is any public transport set up yet for going between these two airports without going into rome itself.
I know a taxi/limousine would be a possiblity, also. I am waiting for a quote. but they haven't answered yet.

I just looked on the Fiumicino website, and though they give a bunch of different ways to connect via public transport, they all involve going into Rome. That's not to say that there isn't a direct way to get between them, just that if there is it's not listed there, yet.

Further research...Ryanair's site links to this site for private shuttle service between the two airports:

Lincasanova - I'm pretty sure there's no DIRECT service.
The Terravision bus services are to/from the city centre, not between the airports.
I think the public transport options are:
- train via Roma Termini (- but you would have a bus or taxi ride from Ciampino station). Or alternatively ...
- train to Termini and connect to the Terravision bus service.
Hope this helps ...

Hi,
We are traveling from Ciampino to Rome Termini.
This is what we were told:
There is a shuttle bus that leaves Ciampino and connects with the A Metro (subway). That goes directly to Termini, where you can take the airport train to Fiumicino.
Of course - a direct transfer by car service would be lovely!

i have done the ciampino - termini scene twice.
i really only need to try to find out about what the DIRECT service. It MAY not exist. if it does, it certainly isn't publicized!!!
i guess shuttle/van service may be best option. still waiting for response.
about the shuttle bus to metro stop.
there are two different buses that stop n same place.. each about every ten minutes/ or 15.
one goes to the train station. and the OTHER goes to the METRO station.
the ticket machine was broken.. so there was a lady selling 1 euro tickets to get on this bus. it was not air conditioned. .. just warning you. you start to get used to it(?) .. if you are lucky.

Try www.limoservices.rome.com they are very good. I have used them a few times. They also do tours in the different cities and we did one in Florence through them. We had great tour guide.

Carol - Don't even think of going the bus/metro A route! It's 'round the houses' and a waste of time ...
Better options are:
- Bus to Ciampino station (5-10 mins) then train (15 mins) to Roma Termini. Trains leave every 20-30 mins.
www.trenitalia.com
- Terravision airport shuttle bus to Roma Termini (- journey time 40 mins).

we took the bus to the train as steve suggests, but i was glad i didn't have much luggage, as suddenly everyone who was ACROSS the track came running under steps and up steps to our side of track because there must have been a last minute lane change.
with a lot of baggage that would have been the pits.
we also waited for the public 1 euro bus 15 mnutes at least. then 15 minutes in line at ciampino. then another 15 for the train.
the terravision bus is 9 euros one way.
13 round trip, and if you don't have your tickets already, plan on a line of 15-30 people at ciampino if a ryan air flight has just come in!
we could have bought them on the plane, but seemed like a lot for two people.
