shower facilities at Roma termini???

Are there shower facilities at the station or Fiumicino airport??? I had a look at their web sites but could not find any info. We'll be flying into Rome from Sydney (24 hours) and then catching a train to the Cinque Terre (5 hours). I figure a shower will make us feel not so jet lagged!

Townshipper: There were showers at Termini, have they closed them recently?
kimerley: I'm positive it was last March (if not March '02) when I used the toilets at Termini. The w.c. price was listed (0.60e & I believe you get an entrance token) and also the shower prices (with or without towel). And I believe there were towels near the cashier/attendent when I entered.
Also see http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m.../article.jhtml
This w.c. is located: As you are leaving the trains walking towards the front entrance, it's the *large open* side exit (with escalators) on the leftside (Via Giovanni Giolatti) of the station.
The w.c. is very near these escalators. I *believe* you need to go down the escalator and turn left and on the left? Or it could be on the same level you're on?
I've never seen any showers at the airport. Regards, Walter

Buon Giorno,

We were in Rome last October;on our way to take the subway, I used the W.C. that you are referring and i didn't noticed any showers there.

We used showers at the Munich train station at a place called Mr Clean and we paid 7 Euro.

I didn't see the actual showers either and unless you saw the small sign at the attendant's booth you would never know they existed.
I know there are no signs inside Termini for the showers, I've stayed in that area 6x and have passed thru the station dozens of times and I would have made a mental note of it. It was just a fluke that I stopped there that day.
So they would be very easy to miss . Regards, Walter

Years ago the showers used to be downstairs, but these past few years the station had a major face lift and honestly I cant say anymore if these facilities are still there.

Kimerley, as an alternative, you might see if any of the airport hotels would offer a "day rate" for a room. Major hotels near busy airports usually do.

Buona fortuna!

If they don't have showers, get some of those baby wipes or disposable face wipes and wash up in the w.c. Not as good as a shoer but better than nothing.
