Rome/Termini to Airport

I have just been notified of a flight change on my return flight from Rome back to Chicago. I have to be at the airport quite early. Does anyone know what time the first train leaves from Termini to the Airport? Thanks!

Hi Dori,
My notes have:
The Airport-Termini Express shuttle is marked FS. It leaves from the airport and goes to Termini station every 30 minutes from 6:37am to 10:37pm and from Termini station to the airport every 30 minutes from 5:51am to 10:51pm

There is yet an earlier option (which I don't particularly recommend): you can take the subway train leaving Termini at 4:51, arriving Ostiense Station at 5:11, connecting to the FCO LOCAL commuter train (NOT the Leonardo da Vinci non-stop from Termini) at 5:21, arriving FCO 5.48. Euro 4.70 per person. I don't recommend this because there is some walking between the subway and the train at Ostiense.

Dori - The earliest departure from Roma Termini is 04.51. I believe this is a BUS service to ROMA OSTIENSE, from where you catch the 05.21 train to FCO, arriving Fiumicino at 05.48.

If other Rome stations are more convenient to where you are staying, this train departs at:

05.06 from Roma Tiburtina
05.15 from Roma Tuscolana
05.21 from Roma Ostiense
05.25 from Roma Trastevere

If you need to arrive before 05.48 there is also a night bus service from Tiburtina Station at 02.30 and 03.45

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Thank you for the replies. I have to be there earlier than that (no later than 5:30 a.m.). Does anyone have an idea how much a cab is to the airport? I'll be staying across the street from termini the last night(obviously this now defeats the purpose). Could I get a cab from the termini cab line or should I see if my hotel can arrange a driver? Thanks

Hi Dori,
A cab costs about 40E. Your hotel should arrange for it for you the day before.

We took the cab from our hotel near the RR station.I dont remember exactly how much it was but with 3 or 4 people it is only slightly more then the train. The hotel staff arrange it and can tell you how much it is.

The metro does NOT run this early! Given these requirements, I would strongly recommend a limo service or a taxi. Otherwise, if you don't mind an "adventure", you would need to take a night bus from Termini to Tiburtina (a short run) to connect with the 3:45 a.m. BUS from Tiburtina to FCO. You'll arrive at FCO before 4:30 a.m.

FYI, the night bus from Tiburtina to FCO (leaving at 3:45 a.m.) costs Euro 3.62 per person. Tickets on board.
