Shop in or around Galway
Does anyone happen to know of a popular shop/store in or around Galway that has great prices? A friend of mine can't remember the name of the store where she bought herself a shawl that she says was over $100 more at the Blarney Woolen Mills.
We will be in Ireland next week and have a list of gifts to bring back.

If you need to bring back any jewellry, McCarthy's had good prices last time I was there. I brought back nice Celtic silver earrings and pendants for gifts. It's a small shop on one of the main shopping streets.

We have always thought the prices at The Treasure Chest in downtown Galway to be quite good. If you drive from Galway through Salthill to Spitall, there is a big shop on the main road called Sandun (sp)...It's right after driving through the town of Barna, not 20 minutes from Galway City. They have a large selection and decent prices.

There's an outdoor market in Galway's pedestrian mall area: many of the Aran Fishermens' sweaters they sell there are from Nepal (a long way from the Aran Islands). That put us off; but we found a woolens shop on the left as we came out of the Pedestrian Mall area to Eyre Sq. They had genuine Irish made stuff at that shop.
The outdoor market was set up on Saturday: I don't know what other days it is open. There's also a shop and an outdoor market at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center. Caveat! Be careful of non-Irish made woolens at the outdoor market.
