Seville - Oct 05 Amadeus or Picasso
I am planning a trip to Spain in October 05 with a friend of mine. We will be traveling by train, Flying in and out of Seville.
We are planning on 3 nights in Seville, then 2 nights in Granada , then back to Seville for our last 3 nights. ( We plan on doing 2, maybe 3 day trips while staying in Seville)
So - here is my question - we already agreed on the Melia Colon for the 2nd Seville stop. (got it for 100e a night) but I am torn for the 1st Seville stop.
Which would you choose - the Amadeus? or the Picasso? I have read a lot of good reviews of the Amadeus, but the Picasso looks really interesting.
Fyi - for Granada we chose the Macia Plaza.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Debbie

I stayed in the Amadeus as well and really enjoyed it. Somehow they lost our reservation (I didn't confirm before arriving) and put us in a suite or maybe junior suite the first night then moved us to regular room for second night as that was what we had booked. I thought they were great and the building is so charming.
I've never heard of the Picasso.

Thanks for the replies - keep them coming.
The 100e rate for the Melia is a standard room , Oct 13-16 from www.holidaycity.com
A few days ago I had found it for 93 a night but by the time I booked it, the best I could find was 100. We figure by the end of the trip, we will appreciate a nicer hotel
The Picasso is between the Alcazar and the River - http://www.grupo-piramide.com/index.htm
which makes it look convient for sight seeing.

Well, I'm back now.
Since there were very few references to the Picasso, I figure I should report back after my stay there.
First the good news - the location is perfect. Right between the Cathedral & Alcazar. Just up from the Puerta De Jerez on one side, and the Avenidia de la Constitution on the other. ( Although the Dahli Hostal is even easier to find & work around) .
Bad news - I had booked a double room ensuite. We ended up with a triple room with the smallest ensuite ever. On the 3rd floor (which to us was really the 4th floor) - with no elevator. {my bad, I thought it had an elevator, but must have confused it with the other places I was looking at
} The shower was the smallest I have ever seen - 2 ft square, MAX with an accordian door that did not open fully.
Oh- and our room did not have a balcony - it overlooked the roof.
Definitely not worth the 87euro per night .
( The Melia Colon however was FABULOUS - even in the bargain room I found there for 100 euro a night - totally plush & posh)
