Sete(Languedoc)

To any one planning on visiting Languedoc, there's a page in today's New York Time's travel section.

When I was there. There was a sardine museum, since closed, but I didn't know that there was a George Brassens museum til later. We had stopped there for a pastis on the way to Carcassone.

Here it is but you may have to register to get through: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/06/tr...6sete.html?8td

One great treat about the NYT site is that if you register, you can sign up to get the travel section in full (no ads though) each Saturday for the next day Sunday--it's great and it's (drumroll please) my favorite price-FREE.

I think you have to go to preferences once you've gotten a login to do it--but it is wonderful--I print off and save any stories I want for the future. Today online they are featuring all kinds of French info which you can access for free--usually it is the pay for article stuff--so I hope you enjoy it and take advantage if u like. Had trouble posting--anyone else having trouble?

Take care,
Robyn France

Thanks for the info, Mimi and Robyn. I saw the joutes from my hotel window! Went to Paul Valéry's Cimetière Marin and Brassens' museum and grave.

So funny--I posted that before reading the article. I just loved the Brassens museum, had those automatic listening things that cue in to what you're looking at; lots of his music!

Hi

just to say, its still pretty hot in Languedoc.

About 100 f inland for the last few weeks.

A bit cooler on the coast but last week had little wind, and it was often from the South, bringing some humidity.
