Selfridges London

I know this is a terrific Department store but has anyone stayed at their hotel " The Selfridge"? Terry

It has been a while, but I used to stay there on business trips . . our office was just behind Selfridges. When I lived there it was one of the hotels I sent visitors to.

The rooms are small . . even by London standards, but the hotel is well run and pleasant. I particularly liked the "old London" decor. The breakfast room is very nice.

It is very well located, just steps from Oxford Street at Baker. Very easy to catch buses and close to three tube stations and a half dozen good Pubs.

Hope this helps . . Rich

Is there a website? When I Googled it, I keep getting the Thistle hotel.

That is because the Selfridge IS a Thistle hotel. Thistle is a well known UK hotel chain - Thistle Tower, Thistle, Selfridge, etc.

Sorry Janis, I got confused because they mentioned the department store. (and I reasoned that since there are 2 Abbey Court Hotels in London, this might be the case as well.)

Excellent location, whatever the size of the rooms.

There is no connection between the hotel and the department store. They are simply neighbours.

Did someone say Thistle Hotel? I Bristle even at the very thought! But that is just me. I am sure Janis could give you excellent hotel advice.
