Seeking Suggestions for Hotel in Beaune, France
As a result of excellent advice on this message board, we have settled on a two day trip to Beaune, France (a departure from Paris).
Any hotel advice for Beaune would be very helpful. I have looked at Hotel Le Cep (very pricey) and Hotel Grillon (very reasonable)....
Any ideas?
THANK YOU!

You could do a search on the Logis de France web site. http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk/
http://www.France.com has hotels all over the country and an excellent online reservation service.
Both the above have photos of the hotels, rooms and restaurants. The France.com site has reviews by people who have stayed at the various hotels.
We've booked with both of them many times and never had any problems.
You might want to do a search using "Beaune and Hotels" in the search window above.
Hope you enjoy your visit. We love Beaune.

My husband and I visited Beaune in Sept 2003. It is a lovely town and I know you will enjoy your stay, however we chose to stay out of town in a little village called Puligny Montrachet. The B&B we stayed in was a refurbished old home and it was LOVELY!! The name was La Chouette. Check it out. The drive to Beaune from Puligny was only 15 minutes. Staying near the vineyards was absolutely heaven. We had a deck and sat outside and watched the sunset over the Gran Cru vineyards....

everret, will you have a car? We will be stopping by train for two nights in early July between Lyon and Paris. We booked first at LeCedre, which looks lovely and is right in the city walls. But after comments here, and looking to save a little money, we have rebooked at Hotel Grillon. It looks very nice, is very reasonable, and although not quite in town, seems like a pleasant and easy walk since we won't have a car. The owners were quick to respond by email to answer my questions about sidewalks into town (there are) and about air conditioning in all rooms (there is). They were also prompt in confirming my reservation. I didn't want one of the places out some where, but I know there are some very nice ones.
