Schlosshotel Steinburg--Wurzburg, Germany
My husband and I are interested in staying in this castle-hotel (www.steinburg.com) when we visit Germany. Does anyone know if it is possible to get to this hotel using public transportation? We will be traveling by rail and will not have a car. Thank you in advance for your help!

The internet site:

lists it as being 2 kms from bus or RR,
but I would e-mail them directly at [email protected]
and ask them directly about their situation. You can be sure that they read, and will answer in, english!

You can either take Bus# 13 from the main train station in Würzburg to Steinburgstrasse (takes only about 11 minutes) or take a taxi. Take a look at the location of the hotel at www.wuerzburg.de.

Rach: Thanks for the information from the castle.de website! I actually did email them about 1-2 weeks ago (I can't remember exactly when I emailed) but I haven't heard back yet. The email address I found was different than the one you gave me, so I will try again. Thank you!
Fernweh: Thank you for the bus information! How close would the Steinburgstrasse bus station be to the hotel--walking distance? For some reason I couldn't figure out how to locate the hotel or map at www.wuerzburg.de. Could you give me directions? I was looking on the English pages. Thank you again!

On the left is "STADTPLAN" for map,
enter "hotels" for search, then "Steinburg", for exact location. Map zooms in or out and can be printed!

I just wanted to update this post in case someone out there has a similar question in the future. I did receive an email from the hotel (at the address given to me by rach) saying that there is no public transportation from the train station. They recommended taking a taxi and estimated 10 euros for the cost.
