Hamburg directions

Hi
I will be arriving Hamburg from Berlin on the ICE - need directions to the Marriott Renaissance on Grosse Bleichen.

Secondly, flying back to Switzerland from Hamburg and would like to know the best way from the hotel to the airport - is there a shuttle? We have an early flight out.
Thanks in advance,
Pat

I am bringing this ttt

I need to know if the Renaissance is near the main train station or if I have to take another connection. I can't find any info on the Marriott site.

Appreciate the help
Pat

www.bahn.de, German rail site i believe will tell you which tram, S or U bahn or bus to take from the station to an address, thus, if so, you could see where it is.

To use the Bahn website to find the way to an address, you have to switch from "normal search" to "advanced search" (tabs at top of page).

You can also get routing information from Hamburg Verkehrsverbund at www.hvv.de.

Thank you all for your help. Finally figured out through one of the sites that it is only a short walk.
I will bookmark these sites
Thanks again

The Renaissance is not a short walk from central station.

You should rather change to the S1 train line at central station (lower level just outside the main building - S1 trains leaving from inside the main building would be the wrong direction). Take it in the direction of Blankenese or Wedel. Unboard at Jungfernstieg. Take the exit to the front at the train in the direction of city hall (Rathaus or Rathausmarkt). After the second escalator, keep to the right and take the third escalator to the surface. You will have City Hall to your left and face a canal. Cross the canal. Upon the second intersection (Neuer Wall St.) turn left. Your hotel will be on the right after approx. 250 yards.

Pat,
The Renaissance is a nice comfortable hotel. It has a quieter location than the Marriott on ABC street though it's not far from each other. The rooms are also not as cookie cutter shaped like the Marriott. I stayed there 9 years ago and remember strolling around the area where there were rows of quaint stores in white townhouses with classic architecture.
