Schiphol to Cruise Ship Terminal

What is the best way to get from Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam to the Cruise Ship Terminal? Is a cab expensive? Are there shuttlebuses from the Cruiselines?

Don't the Cruiselines give advice for this?

The cruise terminal is close to Centraal Station (main railway station). For a few dollars you can catch a train right at the airport and then take a five minute walk to the terminal or catch a taxi at the station. A taxi will cost considerably more. There are busses available, but not sure if there is a direct one to the cruise terminal from the airport.

Googled some info:

Port: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Address: Amsterdam Passenger Terminal Oostelijke Handelskade
Passenger Terminal Amsterdam

http://www.ptamsterdam.nl/homepage/e_index.html
Address: Piet Heinkade 27, 1019 BR Amsterdam,
telephone +31 (0) 20 - 5091 000, fax +31 (0) 20 - 5091 009, e-mail [email protected]
The location of the terminal is a unique one: right in the heart of Amsterdam’s bustling center. There is a parking lot for 400 cars, located directly under the building. Taxi ranks, coach parking and several stops for public transportation can be found outside. Amsterdam Centraal, the railway station, is less than 500 mtrs away and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is just a 20 minutes drive.

And, the new IjTram, a tram, stops right in front of the Cruise Terminal - it goes to Centraal Station. That said i think the inconvenience of either walking or taking the IjsTram to Centraal Station and then navigating that labyrinth of platforms with luggage would justify the taxi fees - maybe $50 to Schiphol - it'snot that far by road about 10 miles. Yes like above ask the cruise company about shuttle buses, etc.

And if you do decide to take the train in from Schiphol to Centraal Station, do not, under any circumstances, leave any of your luggage unattended near the train car doors, especially when the train stops at the intermediate Sloterdijk station.

Truly, better to ask your cruiseline than us if they offer a shuttle. If they do not and assuming you will have luggage to transport as well as yourself, I'd definitely spring for a taxi from the airport.
