Amsterdam trip
We will be taking a cruise from Amsterdam, what is the best way to get to cruise port? On our return we will be going to Stuttgart. What is the best way to get to the train station from the cruise pier. Thank you for any help you can give me on this. We are older, so the easiest way is the way we want to go.

There is a tram in Amsterdam that terminates right in front of the Cruise Ship Terminal, which is about .25 miles east of the main Amsterdam Centraal train station. The Ijs Tram also stops near the ship terminal but not as close as tram 25 (? i believe) does - smack in front.

There's a map here:

If you click on the blue and red block near the top, slightly to the right of centre, you'll be centred on Centraal Station, and you'll see the ship terminal marked to the right of the pane, and the 25 tram route. But with a lot of luggage a taxi might be simplest.

The area around Central Station, behind it and all down the center of Amsterdam is very torn up right now. It's a big mess, as they are working on a new metro line.
We have walked from the cruise ship terminal into town in the past, and it's an easy walk. It's not very attractive right now though.
