Schiphol Hotel A4
Has anyone had any experience with this hotel? It has many good reviews. I'm aware it's not in Amsterdam but closer to the airport. Trying to find a room for all four of us. GTAhotels website has it for $118 a night. Also have never used this website. Is it reputable? Any hidden fees, etc. Thanks in advance. Jennifer

No but accorhotels.com has hotels of varying pricing and standards ringing the airport and linked to terminals by frequent shuttle buses
IBIS, ETAP and Dorint for example are all clean modern hotels if that is what you're looking for

It is a van der valk hotel. I would only stay in one if there was nothing else available personally.
It is also on the A4 which is the main motorway from Den Haag to Amsterdam, and very very busy.
Either look at the Accor hotels around Schiphol or even look at hotels around the Buitenveldert/WTC area of Amsterdam, - they are bog standard characterless hotels but they have better links into the city centre that this one does, for a similar price.
Or consider staying outside Amsterdam, in Haarlem, or even a bit further out in Utrecht or Hilversum, both with fast frequent train links.

You don't want to take a car into Amsterdam! It is expensive to park even if you can find a place, and driving is a nightmare in the city centre.
Plus if you stay at the hotel on the A4 you will risk spending time in a huge traffic jam twice a day (in both directions).
You can park ouside and get a tram or bus in. For instance there is a "transferium" in Amsterdam Zuid-oost, by the Ajax stadium where you can park and ride, it costs €6 to park all day with two free tickets to get you in and out of the centre.
Or choose one of the hotels by the WTC as they usually have free parking and you are not far from a metro stop.
